The Polini CDI eliminates the original limiter and allows the engine revolutions to be increased up to 14,000 depending on the modifications made to the motorcycle.
Installation:
- Remove the saddle to access the original electronic control unit.
- Disconnect the positive battery terminal (if present).
- Loosen the screws securing the original control unit.
- Remove the original control unit by disconnecting the connector and pulling it to the side.
- Select the microswitches (DIP) according to the desired mapping (see diagram and graph). Attention! Always select the DIP switches with the engine off.
- Connect the Polini control unit and tighten the fixing screws.
- Reconnect the positive terminal of the battery, if it has been previously disconnected .
- Reassemble the saddle and plastics.
- Adjustment of the microswitches (DIP) - The position of the DIP switches varies the mapping used by the motor.
- DIP 1: selection of curves C1 or C2 - ON, curve C1 is active
- OFF, curve C2 is active
- DIP 2: both curves can be varied - ON , activates the fixed advance of the original control unit, that is, about 26 degrees at 6000 rpm.
- OFF, activates the advance of the entire curve by 3 degrees (as if the stator was anticipated), that is, about 29 degrees at 6000 rpm
